A large 3-form entry primary school in Slough is seeking a confident and reliable Primary Cover Supervisor to join their team from September 2026. This is a full-time role covering classes across EYFS, KS1, and KS2, providing PPA cover, management release time, staff absence cover, and other planned classroom cover throughout the school.

The school is looking for someone with previous experience working in schools who is comfortable leading a class independently, following lesson plans, and maintaining positive behaviour and engagement.

The Role

The successful candidate will:

  • Provide classroom cover across EYFS, KS1, and KS2
  • Deliver pre-planned lessons in the absence of the class teacher
  • Manage classroom behaviour effectively
  • Ensure pupils remain engaged and on task
  • Support learning and answer pupil questions where appropriate
  • Liaise with teachers and school leaders regarding pupil progress and behaviour
  • Adapt confidently to different year groups and classroom environments

No planning is required, although candidates should be confident delivering a range of curriculum subjects.

Requirements
  • Previous experience working within a UK primary school
  • Experience covering classes or leading groups of pupils
  • Strong behaviour management skills
  • Good communication and organisational skills
  • Ability to work independently and use initiative
  • Flexible and adaptable approach to working across the school

The role would suit an experienced Cover Supervisor, HLTA, Teaching Assistant with cover experience, sports coach, tutor, or an aspiring teacher looking to gain further classroom experience.

Working Hours

Monday to Friday 8:30am - 3:30pm

Pay

£110-£130 per day PAYE dependent on experience and previous school-based cover experience.
