We are currently recruiting for an experienced and passionate SENDCO to join a dedicated Secondary AP setting in Sheffield from September 2026. This is an exciting opportunity for a committed professional to take on a key leadership position within a supportive and forward-thinking alternative provision environment. The successful candidate will play a pivotal role in shaping and delivering high-quality SEND provision, ensuring students with additional needs receive the support and guidance required to succeed both academically and personally.
The Role
- Lead and oversee SEND provision across the school
- Coordinate EHCPs, interventions, and provision mapping effectively
- Work collaboratively with teaching staff, support teams, parents, and external agencies
- Provide guidance and training to staff around inclusive practice and SEND strategies
- Monitor pupil progress and ensure appropriate support is in place
- Ensure compliance with current SEND legislation and statutory responsibilities
- Promote an inclusive learning environment that supports positive outcomes for all learners
The Ideal Candidate Will Have
- A recognised SENDCO qualification (essential)
- Previous experience in a SEND leadership role within a secondary setting or AP environment
- Strong knowledge of current SEND legislation and best practices
