Tradewind Recruitment are currently recruiting for an experienced SEN Teacher to join a specialist SEN school in Sheffield, supporting pupils with a range of complex and additional needs.
We are looking for a teacher who is confident working in a specialist environment and understands that SEN teaching can be challenging, unpredictable and incredibly rewarding. Pupils may present with complex learning needs, communication difficulties, emotional regulation difficulties and behaviours that can be challenging to manage.
The successful candidate will need to be patient, resilient and nurturing, while maintaining clear boundaries and high expectations. You will need to adapt your teaching to meet individual needs and be comfortable working alongside teaching assistants and wider specialist teams.
The Role
- Planning and delivering engaging, differentiated lessons for pupils with SEN
- Supporting pupils with complex learning and additional needs
- Creating a calm, structured and inclusive classroom environment
- Managing behaviour and supporting emotional regulation
- Developing positive relationships with pupils and understanding their individual needs
- Working closely with TAs, SLT and other professionals
- Monitoring progress and adapting teaching accordingly
- Supporting pupils to develop both academically and personally
What We're Looking For
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or relevant teaching qualification
- Previous experience teaching within SEN, specialist or alternative provision settings
- A strong understanding of differentiated and personalised teaching
- Excellent behaviour management and classroom leadership skills
- A calm, nurturing and resilient approach
- Someone who can adapt quickly when situations don't go to plan
- A genuine commitment to improving outcomes for pupils with additional needs
Pay
The role pays £160-£240 per day. The exact rate offered will depend on experience, availability and the individual school's budget.
