Tradewind Recruitment are currently seeking a reliable and proactive Building Supervisor to join a welcoming primary school in Sheffield. This is a full-time position with an immediate start, offering a fantastic opportunity to play a key role in maintaining a safe, secure, and well-presented learning environment for pupils and staff.

The Role

As the Building Supervisor, you will be responsible for the day-to-day management and upkeep of the school premises. Working from 10:00am to 6:00pm, you will ensure the site remains safe, clean, secure, and fully operational throughout the school day and after-school activities.

Key Responsibilities

  • Opening and securing areas of the school site as required
  • Carrying out routine maintenance and minor repairs
  • Monitoring health and safety across the premises
  • Managing contractors and site visitors
  • Conducting regular site inspections
  • Ensuring the school grounds are maintained to a high standard
  • Supporting with deliveries, room setups, and school events
  • Responding promptly to maintenance issues and emergencies

The Ideal Candidate

  • Previous experience in a caretaking, facilities, maintenance, or site supervisory role
  • Good practical maintenance and DIY skills
  • Knowledge of health and safety procedures
  • Ability to work independently and manage workload effectively
  • Strong communication and organisational skills
  • Enhanced DBS on the Update Service or willingness to obtain one
