SEN Teaching Assistant (Autism Specialist) - Supply Basis in Sheffield & Surrounding Areas are currently recruiting for passionate and dedicated SEN Teaching Assistants with experience supporting pupils with Autism Spectrum Condition (ASC) to work across a trusted network of schools in the Sheffield area on a flexible supply basis.
This is an excellent opportunity for experienced support staff who are looking for flexibility, variety, and the chance to make a genuine difference in the lives of children with additional needs.
The Role
- Provide tailored 1:1 and small group support for pupils with autism
- Help create a positive, structured, and inclusive learning environment
- Support pupils with communication, emotional regulation, and social interaction
- Work closely with teachers, SENCOs, and wider school staff
- Adapt learning activities to meet individual pupil needs
- Encourage independence and confidence within the classroom setting
Requirements
- Previous experience working with children or young people with autism/SEN
- A calm, patient, and empathetic approach
- Strong communication and behaviour management skills
- The ability to build positive relationships with pupils and staff
- A flexible and proactive attitude
- An enhanced DBS on the update service (or willingness to obtain one)
