Salary: Up to Leadership Scale; Contract: Interim – September 2026 to July 2027; Start Date: September 2026.

Role Overview

As Interim Head of School you will provide strategic and operational leadership, ensuring high standards of teaching, learning and safeguarding.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and support staff across the school.
  • Drive high standards within EYFS provision.
  • Support pupils with additional needs and ensure inclusive practice.
  • Maintain a positive and nurturing learning environment.
  • Work closely with governors, staff and families.
  • Oversee curriculum delivery, assessment and pupil progress.
  • Manage day‑to‑day operations effectively.
  • Support staff development and wellbeing.

Ideal Candidate

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS).
  • Proven leadership experience within an EYFS setting.
  • Experience supporting pupils with SEN.
  • Strong understanding of safeguarding and inclusive education.
  • Excellent communication and organisational skills.
  • Ability to inspire, motivate and lead a team effectively.
  • Passion for early years education and child development.
  • Either existing Headship experience or experience as EYFS Leader/Deputy ready to step up.
