An excellent primary school in Camden is seeking an experienced SEN Teaching Assistant to support a Year 2 pupil with Autism on a one-to-one basis. The pupil is bright and capable but requires support with communication, emotional regulation, transitions, and maintaining engagement throughout the school day. The school is looking for a calm, consistent, and proactive individual who can build a positive relationship and help the child thrive both academically and socially.
Responsibilities
- Provide one-to-one support for a Year 2 pupil with Autism in class and during less structured times.
- Implement strategies recommended by outside agencies.
- Support the pupil with communication, emotional regulation, and engagement throughout the school day.
- Collaborate closely with the SENCO, class teacher, and parents.
- Create a patient and nurturing learning environment to help the pupil progress academically and socially.
Qualifications
- Experience supporting children with Autism.
- Confidence in implementing strategies provided by outside agencies.
- Patient and nurturing approach.
- Experience with Autism and communication strategies is highly desirable.
