Level 2 Teaching Assistant β Wigan
Are you a qualified Level 2 Teaching Assistant looking for a rewarding, long-term role? A welcoming primary school in Wigan is looking for a dedicated individual to start as soon as possible in their Reception class.
This is an ongoing, full-time position that offers the unique opportunity to provide both specialist 1-1 support and general classroom assistance.
This position is designed for someone who enjoys variety and is passionate about early childhood development. Your day will be split into two key areas:
Mornings (1-1 SEN Support): You will work closely with a specific child in the Reception cohort. Your focus will be on implementing their individual learning plan, supporting their social integration, and helping them navigate the morning routine.
Afternoons (General Class Support): You will join the wider Reception team to support the whole class. This includes setting up creative learning stations, assisting with outdoor play, and helping the teacher manage small group activities.
We are looking for:
- Level 2 Teaching Assistant or equivalent
- Experience working with complex needs
- Excellent communication and behaviour management techniques
- This position is subject to an Enhanced DBS Disclosure, Overseas Police Clearances (if applicable) and professional reference checks
- Your CV must cover the last 10 years of employment history where possible and any employment breaks must be explained
- You must have the legal right to work in the UK
