Tradewind Recruitment is delighted to be working with a welcoming and inclusive Primary School in Waltham Forest to recruit a committed and compassionate SEN Teaching Assistant to join their team from January 2026. This is a rewarding full-time, term-time role, supporting two children with EHCPs on a 1:1 basis during the mornings, working across Reception and KS1.

The children have Autism, so the school is seeking someone patient, nurturing and confident in supporting pupils with additional needs to access learning and thrive within the classroom. The successful candidate will work closely with the class teacher and SENCO to deliver tailored support, helping the children to engage with lessons, develop communication and social skills, and build independence.

In the afternoons, the role may involve supporting the wider class or small groups as required. Experience supporting children with Autism is essential, and any prior experience delivering or supporting Phonics, particularly Read Write Inc, would be highly desirable. A strong understanding of early learning and KS1 expectations will be beneficial, as will a proactive and flexible approach.

The school offers:

  • A supportive leadership team and experienced SEN provision
  • A positive, inclusive ethos where staff are valued
  • Well-resourced classrooms and clear SEN structures

The role offers:

  • Daily rate: 90-95 per day (PAYE), depending on experience
  • Start date: January 2026
  • Opportunity to make a genuine difference to children's learning and development

This role would suit an experienced SEN Teaching Assistant or a passionate support professional looking to further develop their skills within a nurturing primary setting.
