Primary SEN Teaching Assistant – Bolton

SEND Support Full-Time Long-Term Tradewind Recruitment

Tradewind Recruitment is recruiting Primary SEN Teaching Assistants to work in inclusive mainstream primary schools across Bolton. These roles focus on supporting pupils with additional needs, either on a 1:1 basis or within small intervention groups.

Pupils may present with ASD, ADHD, speech and language needs, SEMH, or learning difficulties. Support is tailored and delivered in collaboration with teachers and SENCOs.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide targeted 1:1 or small-group SEN support
  • Implement individual education plans (IEPs)
  • Support emotional regulation and behaviour strategies
  • Assist with classroom access and differentiated tasks
  • Monitor progress and feedback to teaching staff
  • Promote independence and engagement
  • Support inclusion within the wider classroom

Essential Criteria

  • Experience supporting children with SEND
  • Strong understanding of primary-aged learning needs
  • Patient, consistent, and resilient approach
  • Ability to follow behaviour and support plans
  • Enhanced DBS (or willingness to apply)

Desirable Experience

  • Autism, ADHD or SEMH support
  • Speech and language interventions
  • Team Teach or similar behaviour training
  • Young people Care, youth work, or mental health support backgrounds
