Overview

Tradewind Recruitment is currently recruiting for an SEN Teaching Assistant to work across a variety of roles in Primary Schools in the Thanet area, starting as soon as possible. These roles can range from working with children with autism, providing academic support, to working with children from trauma‑informed backgrounds where the role is more relationship focused.

The schools we are working with range considerably, from smaller single‑form entry schools to larger multi‑form schools. Ongoing CPD will also be offered through our partnership with the National College.

Responsibilities

  • Work primarily with children with SEN on a 1:1 or small group basis.
  • SEN needs may include ASD, ADHD, Global Delay, Speech and Language, SEMH, and/or Behavioural Needs.
  • Work with small groups of students or individuals needing special attention.
  • Assess students\’ progress and discuss development with teachers, parents/carers, and external agencies if necessary.
  • Undertake CPD as required, for which you will be accredited.

Requirements

  • Experience working as an SEN Teaching Assistant or LSA is highly desirable.
  • Holding an L2 or L3 Teaching Assistant qualification is highly desirable but not essential.
  • Experience working with children with SEN within an education, pastoral, or personal setting is highly desirable.
  • Either have, or be willing to get, an enhanced DBS on the update service.
