Job Title: SEN Teaching Assistant
Location: St Helens, Merseyside
Salary: 90 – 100 per day (dependent on experience and qualifications)

Are you a patient, caring and committed individual with a passion for supporting children with special educational needs? A welcoming and inclusive primary/secondary school in St Helens is looking for a dedicated SEN Teaching Assistant to join their team.

This is a fantastic opportunity to work one-to-one or in small groups with pupils who need additional support, helping to create a positive, engaging, and inclusive learning environment.

The Role:

  • Provide individualised support for pupils with a range of SEN needs, including autism, ADHD, speech and language difficulties, and SEMH.

  • Assist the class teacher with planning and delivering differentiated activities.

  • Support pupils in developing social, emotional, and behavioural skills.

  • Monitor progress and provide feedback to teaching staff and SENCOs.

  • Help maintain a safe and supportive classroom environment.

What We\’re Looking For:

  • Experience working with children or young people with SEN (school, care, or youth setting experience is welcome).

  • A calm, positive and flexible approach.

  • Strong communication and teamwork skills.

  • A relevant qualification (e.g. Level 2 or 3 Teaching Assistant, or equivalent) is desirable but not essential.

  • A genuine commitment to supporting the learning and development of all pupils.
