Tradewind Recruitment are currently looking for a dedicated and experienced SEN Teaching Assistant to join a welcoming mainstream primary school in the PR5 area, supporting children aged 5-7 within a specialist SEN class. This is a fantastic opportunity for a caring, patient and resilient Teaching Assistant who is passionate about supporting children with additional needs and helping them thrive within a mainstream school environment.

The Role

  • Position: SEN Teaching Assistant
  • Location: PR5
  • School: Mainstream primary school
  • Age Group: 5-7 years
  • Setting: SEN class within a mainstream school
  • Start Date: September
  • Hours: Full-time, Monday - Friday

You will work closely with the class teacher and wider school team to provide tailored support to pupils, helping them access learning and develop their confidence, independence and social skills.

The Ideal Candidate

  • Has previous experience working with children with SEN/additional needs
  • Has experience supporting children aged 5-7
  • Has strong behaviour management skills - highly desirable
  • Is patient, calm, consistent and nurturing
  • Can build positive relationships with children and staff
  • Is confident supporting pupils with a range of needs and abilities
  • Can remain resilient and composed when faced with challenging behaviour
  • Has a genuine passion for helping children overcome barriers to learning
