Job Title: SEN Teaching Assistant
Location: Barnet, North London
Start Date: January 2026
Contract Type: Full-Time, Long-Term
Salary: 90 - 115 per day (PAYE, dependent on experience)
Tradewind Recruitment are working in partnership with a welcoming and inclusive Secondary School in Barnet , who are seeking a dedicated SEN Teaching Assistant to join their specialist ASD Unit from January 2026.
The provision supports students with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) to access learning in a calm, structured, and nurturing environment. This role offers an excellent opportunity for someone with a genuine passion for supporting young people with additional needs, helping them achieve both academic and personal growth.
Key Responsibilities
Provide 1:1 and small group support for students with ASD.
Assist pupils in accessing lessons through tailored resources and individualised strategies.
Encourage independence, communication and positive social interaction.
Work collaboratively with teachers and SEN staff to implement learning plans.
Contribute to creating a calm, inclusive, and engaging classroom environment.
What We\'re Looking For
Experience supporting young people with ASD or other special educational needs , ideally in a school or care setting.
Patience, empathy, and a calm, supportive approach.
Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
Proactive attitude and enthusiasm for making a positive impact.
An Enhanced DBS registered on the Update Service (or willingness to obtain one).
