Tradewind Recruitment are working in partnership with a welcoming and inclusive Secondary School in Barnet, who are seeking a dedicated SEN Teaching Assistant to join their specialist ASD Unit from January 2026.
The provision supports students with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) to access learning in a calm, structured, and nurturing environment. This role offers an excellent opportunity for someone with a genuine passion for supporting young people with additional needs, helping them achieve both academic and personal growth.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide 1:1 and small group support for students with ASD.
- Assist pupils in accessing lessons through tailored resources and individualised strategies.
- Encourage independence, communication and positive social interaction.
- Work collaboratively with teachers and SEN staff to implement learning plans.
- Contribute to creating a calm, inclusive, and engaging classroom environment.
What We\βre Looking For
- Experience supporting young people with ASD or other special educational needs, ideally in a school or care setting.
- Patience, empathy, and a calm, supportive approach.
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
- Proactive attitude and enthusiasm for making a positive impact.
- An Enhanced DBS registered on the Update Service (or willingness to obtain one).
