SEN School HLTA. Job in Birmingham Education & Training Jobs

Tradewind Recruitment is seeking an experienced, passionate, and enthusiastic Special Educational Needs HLTA / UQT to start at a special school in Moseley, South Birmingham. The position begins in September 2025 and is a 12-month contract. The role involves working five days per week, from 8:30 to 3:30.

The school supports primary pupils aged 5-11 years, all of whom have education, health and care plans. The primary needs include cognition and learning, and speech, language, and communication needs. Pupils may also have associated physical, sensory, and medical needs. The staff work closely with children to promote independence, communication, and social skills.

Applicants are encouraged to have significant SEND experience. A minimum of 6 months of experience as a HLTA in a SEN setting is required.

Experience / Requirements:

• HLTA Status or experience as a UQT in a SEN School or SEN Resource Base
• At least 6 months experience teaching in a special school
• TEAM TEACH Certificate (Preferred)
• Enhanced DBS on the update service or willingness to apply for one
• Outstanding educational practitioner with high expectations
