Tradewind Recruitment are currently seeking a caring and committed SEN Learning Support Assistant to join a specialist education setting in Rotherham. This is an ideal opportunity for someone who enjoys helping children and young people overcome barriers to learning and wants to build a career within Special Educational Needs and specialist education.
You will work alongside experienced teaching staff to provide additional support to pupils who may have autism, learning difficulties, communication needs, SEMH needs or other additional needs.
The Role
- Supporting pupils individually and within small groups
- Helping pupils access classroom activities and learning
- Providing encouragement and reassurance where needed
- Supporting communication, social development and emotional regulation
- Helping pupils develop independence and confidence
- Building positive and trusting relationships with pupils
- Supporting teachers with classroom activities and resources
- Following individual support and behaviour plans
- Working as part of a wider SEN support team
- Creating a calm, inclusive and positive learning environment
