We are seeking a Specialist SEMH Teaching Assistant to join a supportive school community in Blackpool. This role is ideal for those who understand that behaviour is communication. You will be working with students who face significant barriers to learning, providing them with the emotional stability and academic support they need to succeed.
The Role: Emotional & Academic Support
- One-to-One Interventions: Supporting specific students with complex emotional needs, helping them navigate the school day.
- De-escalation: Utilising trauma-informed strategies to manage challenging behaviours and promote emotional regulation.
- Group Support: Assisting in small-group settings focused on social skills, confidence building, and emotional literacy.
- EHCP Tracking: Monitoring student progress against their Education, Health, and Care Plan (EHCP) targets and reporting to the SENCO.
- Crisis Management: Being a calm and consistent presence for students during moments of distress.

- Experience: A background in SEMH support, youth work, or residential care is highly desirable.
- Resilience: The ability to remain calm and professional in high-pressure or confrontational situations.
