Tradewind Recruitment is recruiting a Full-Time SEMH Teaching Assistant for a friendly and inclusive school in the NG13 postcode area. This is a temp-to-perm role, starting as soon as possible, offering rewarding work while providing stability and career progression.
The Role – SEMH Teaching Assistant:
Provide 1:1 and small group support for pupils with SEMH needs
Support behaviour management, emotional wellbeing, and engagement in learning
Assist in planning and delivering activities to support academic and social development
Work collaboratively with class teachers, SENCO, and pastoral staff
Help create a structured, safe, and nurturing classroom environment
The Ideal Candidate:
Experience working with children or young people with SEMH or behavioural needs
Backgrounds in education, care, youth work, or mental health support are highly desirable
Calm, patient, and resilient with excellent interpersonal skills
Proactive and able to adapt to different pupil needs
Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to apply)
