Join our community of SEND staff at Tradewind! I am currently recruiting for a Secondary SEMH Teaching Assistant at a secondary alternative education provision in the Stockport area that caters for young people aged 11-16 with Social, Emotional or Mental Health needs (SEMH) . The Role Monday to Friday 8.30am to 4:00pm Excellent pay, up to £100 per day and could become a permanent appointment for the right candidate. SEMH Teaching Assistants will support the class teacher in the delivery of lessons in the mornings by preventing or de-escalating challenging behaviours, engaging, motivating & maintaining focus of pupils while also assisting with input to learning. In the afternoon the students go off site for vocational activities, mostly Sports so people with a sporting or other vocational background would be really beneficial. Lots of empathy, patience and determination to persevere through challenges in order to help young people make progress. Promote safety, inclusion and a positive learning environment at all times.
