Overview
SEMH Teaching Assistants Needed β Gloucestershire. Are you passionate about making an impact on primary aged children that are disengaged or at risk? Are you energetic, creative and resilient, with a natural ability to build strong relationships? We\βre looking for strong, enthusiastic and dedicated Teaching Assistants to join our team across a number of SEMH Schools and Alternative Provisions in Gloucestershire. This is a rewarding opportunity to support children aged 5 to 11 with SEMH (Social, Emotional & Mental Health), ADD, ADHD, PTSD, ASD and behaviour that challenges.
Responsibilities
- Supporting children with additional needs in their learning and personal development
- Working closely with class teachers to create engaging and interactive activities
- Helping children develop social skills and positive relationships
- Maintaining a safe, supportive and nurturing learning environment
- Making a genuine difference to young people\\\βs lives every day
- Working 1:1 with children out of the main classroom to support them in regulating their behaviours and feelings
Requirements / Qualifications
- A genuine interest in supporting young people, especially those with mental health needs
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Patience, empathy and resilience
- Previous experience with children or those with SEMH is a bonus β but not essential as full training will be given
- Any previous experience with PE or sports coaching can be really useful in these roles
The Role
- Hours: 8:30am β 3:30pm, term time only
- Pay: from 90 per day
- Flexible: part-time or full-time options available
- Start: September onwards (with potential for permanent contracts for the right person)
- Location: Gloucestershire Alternative Provision and SEMH Schools
