Your primary focus will be on creating a safe, trauma-informed environment where Social, Emotional, and Mental Health (SEMH) needs are met alongside academic progress. We value "connection before correction" and are looking for a teacher who can remain calm and consistent in high-pressure situations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Tailored Delivery: Adapt the curriculum to meet the unique sensory and emotional needs of students with SEMH, ASD, and complex trauma.
  • Co-Regulation: Work alongside a dedicated team of support assistants to manage emotional regulation and de-escalation.
  • Relationship-First Teaching: Build deep rapport with students to foster a sense of belonging and safety.
  • EHCP Progress: Track and evidence small-step progress, ensuring Education, Health, and Care Plan outcomes are at the heart of your planning.

Requirements

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS/QTLS): Preferred, but we will consider highly experienced SEMH Leads/Instructors with a proven track record.
  • SEMH Expertise: Deep understanding of trauma-informed practice and attachment theory.
  • Local Commitment: A desire to make a long-term impact on the lives of young people within the Blackpool community.
  • Resilience: An unflappable nature and a genuine passion for supporting vulnerable learners.

What We Offer

  • Small Class Sizes: Typically 6-8 students with high staff-to-pupil ratios.
  • Professional Development: Full access to specialist SEMH and SEND training.
  • Leadership Pathway: For ambitious candidates, we offer a pathway to Senior Leadership, including fully funded NPQH qualifications.
  • Wellbeing Focus: A supportive staff culture that understands the demands of AP work and prioritises your mental health.

If you are ready to swap the traditional classroom for a setting where you can truly make a difference, we want to hear from you. Apply via Google Jobs or send your CV directly to us. We are committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children. All candidates must undergo an enhanced DBS check.
