Flexible SEMH Teacher Opportunities with Tradewind Recruitment
At Tradewind Recruitment, we’re proud to work closely with schools and specialist provisions that are transforming the lives of young people. We understand the importance of matching compassionate, skilled educators with environments where they can make a genuine impact – while still maintaining flexibility in their working week.
We are currently seeking Qualified Teachers (QTS or equivalent) to work on a flexible basis in specialist provisions and schools in South Gloucestershire that support pupils with Social, Emotional, and Mental Health (SEMH) needs and associated learning difficulties. This role is ideal for SEMH teachers who are looking for part‑time, ad‑hoc, short‑term, or ongoing flexible placements rather than a fixed long‑term contract.
About the Role
As a SEMH Teacher, you’ll be working with small groups or individual pupils who may present with:
- Trauma and attachment needs
- Social, emotional, mental health (SEMH)
- Anxiety or school refusal
- Behavioural challenges
- Autism, ADHD or additional learning needs
Lessons are often delivered in a nurture‑based or alternative curriculum setting, with a strong focus on emotional regulation, engagement and personalised learning rather than traditional classroom delivery.
You may lead core subject lessons, interventions or project‑based learning, with support from experienced LSAs and behaviour mentors. Your role will balance academic teaching with relational support and behaviour management.
You’ll be a great fit if you:
- Hold QTS, QTLS or an equivalent UK teaching qualification
- Have experience teaching in SEMH, PRU, alternative provision or inclusive settings (or a strong desire to)
- Can adapt curriculum delivery to meet complex needs
- Are confident using restorative and relational behaviour strategies
- Are resilient, nurturing and calm under pressure
- Are open to flexible availability (days to suit you)
We welcome teachers from both primary and secondary backgrounds.
Role Details
- Location: South Gloucestershire
- Hours: 8:30 am – 3:30 pm, term‑time only
- Pay: £140 to £240 per day depending on pay scale & role responsibilities
- Availability Options: Full‑time or part‑time
