The Role
Are you a resilient and compassionate Key Stage 2 Teacher? We are seeking a dedicated educator to join a specialist SEMH School in the Crowle Area. This is a unique opportunity to escape the pressures of a 30-child mainstream classroom. Here, class sizes are smaller within the onsite provision, allowing you to provide a truly nurturing, individualised, and trauma-informed approach to education. You will support students with Social, Emotional, and Mental Health (SEMH) needs, balancing academic progress with essential therapeutic support.
Your Responsibilities
- Creative Curriculum: Lead a small class of 5, delivering an engaging KS2 curriculum adapted to the diverse needs of your learners.
- Classroom Culture: Create a safe, structured environment where pupils feel empowered to overcome barriers to learning.
- Collaborative Support: Work alongside specialised Teaching Assistants and therapy teams to implement individual EHCP (Education, Health and Care Plan) goals.
- Behaviour Coaching: Utilise de-escalation techniques and emotional coaching to manage complex behaviours effectively.
Requirements
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS): Mandatory for this specialist role.
- KS2 Expertise: A proven track record of teaching within Key Stage 2.
- SEN Experience: Experience in SEMH or SEN settings is highly desirable. You must have robust behaviour management skills and an understanding of trauma-informed practice.
- Commitment: Looking for a long-term career move (Temp-to-Perm).
- Compliance: An Enhanced DBS on the Update Service is essential for an immediate start.
This school is renowned for its commitment to staff wellbeing. With micro-class sizes, you can focus on the "why" of teaching. The temp-to-perm route offers you a "try before you buy" period to ensure the school is the perfect fit before committing to a permanent contract.
