We are seeking an enthusiastic and dedicated Teacher of Science to join a thriving and ambitious secondary school community in Dalton-in-Furness. This role begins on 1st June 2026 as a fixed-term contract until the end of the academic year (July 2026). For the right candidate, there is a clear view to extend this into a permanent position for the September 2026 - July 2027 academic year.
This is an excellent opportunity for a teacher who is passionate about inspiring the next generation of scientists and is looking for a school with high aspirations for every student.
- Deliver high-quality Science lessons across Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4.
- Full responsibility for planning and marking is essential.
- Create engaging lesson plans that meet the needs of all learners and provide timely, constructive feedback in line with school policy.
- Monitor student progress and use data to inform teaching strategies, ensuring every student performs to the best of their ability.
- Contribute to the wider life of the Science department and support the school's ethos of excellence.
Qualifications:
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent.
- A degree in a Science-related subject (Biology, Chemistry, or Physics).
- Proven experience teaching Science at the secondary level.
- Ability to work accurately under pressure with meticulous attention to detail regarding assessment and data.
