The Role
- You will be responsible for delivering engaging Science lessons to secondary-aged students who may have experienced barriers to mainstream education.
- The successful candidate will be able to build positive relationships, adapt their teaching to meet a range of needs, and create a safe, supportive learning environment where students can thrive.
Responsibilities
- Plan and deliver engaging Science lessons across Key Stages 3 and 4
- Differentiating learning to meet the needs of individual students
- Support students with social, emotional, and behavioural needs
- Promote positive behaviour and encourage student engagement
- Work collaboratively with support staff, senior leaders, and external agencies
- Monitor and assess student progress, providing constructive feedback
The Ideal Candidate
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent teaching qualification
- Experience teaching Science at secondary level
- A strong understanding of behaviour management strategies
- Experience within an Alternative Provision, PRU, SEMH setting, or working with vulnerable learners is desirable but not essential
- A patient, resilient, and nurturing approach
- Commitment to helping students achieve positive outcomes
