Tradewind Recruitment is working in partnership with a well-regarded secondary school in Northampton that is looking to appoint a dedicated Science Instructor from February or March 2026. This opportunity is initially offered through to July 2026, with the potential to become permanent for the right candidate.
This role would suit someone confident teaching Science across Key Stages 3 and 4 who is keen to gain valuable classroom experience while positively influencing student progress and engagement.
The Role:
Deliver well-structured and engaging Science lessons using established schemes of work
Teach across Biology, Chemistry, and Physics at KS3 and KS4
Support students in developing scientific knowledge, investigative skills, and exam confidence
Adapt lessons to meet the needs of mixed-ability classes, including SEND learners
Work collaboratively with the Science department and wider school staff
Maintain a positive, well-managed classroom environment with clear expectations
About You:
Strong subject knowledge in Science or a related field
Experience working with secondary-aged students (teaching, tutoring, mentoring, or classroom support)
Confident and professional in front of a classroom
Adaptable, patient, and committed to supporting student achievement
A degree in a Science-related subject is desirable but not essential
