We are seeking a highly organised and detail-oriented Exams Officer to join a secondary school in Hackney. This key role is responsible for the planning, administration, and delivery of internal and external examinations in line with JCQ and awarding body regulations.
Key Responsibilities
- Managing all aspects of exam administration for GCSEs, A-levels, and internal assessments
- Ensuring compliance with JCQ regulations and awarding body requirements
- Coordinating exam timetables, rooming, and invigilation schedules
- Training and briefing invigilators and supporting exam-day logistics
- Managing exam entries, access arrangements, and special consideration applications
- Secure handling, storage, and distribution of examination materials
- Liaising with senior leaders, teachers, students, awarding bodies, and external agencies
- Maintaining accurate exam records and post-exam administration, including results and appeals
The Ideal Candidate Will Have
- Previous experience as an Exams Officer or within school exam administration (essential/desirable)
- Strong knowledge of JCQ regulations and exam processes
- Excellent organisational skills and attention to detail
- Confidence working under pressure and meeting strict deadlines
- Strong communication skills and ability to liaise with multiple stakeholders
- A professional and confidential approach at all times
