Are you an experienced SEN Teaching Assistant looking for your next opportunity in a secondary school? Tradewind Recruitment is currently working with a secondary school in Salford that is looking for a dedicated and enthusiastic SEN Teaching Assistant to join their support team. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with previous mainstream secondary school experience who enjoys supporting young people with additional needs and wants to make a genuine difference to their education.

The Role

  • You will work alongside teachers, the SENCO and the wider pastoral team to support pupils with a range of additional needs, helping them access learning and develop their confidence and independence.
  • Your responsibilities will include:
    • Supporting pupils with SEN in lessons and through small-group interventions.
    • Helping pupils access and engage with the curriculum.
    • Supporting students with their social, emotional and behavioural development.
    • Working closely with teaching staff and the SENCO.
    • Building positive relationships with pupils and encouraging independence.
    • Supporting pupils with needs such as ASD, ADHD, SEMH and communication difficulties.

We're Looking For

  • The ideal candidate will have:
    • Previous experience as a SEN TA, Teaching Assistant or Learning Support Assistant.
    • Experience working within a mainstream secondary school.
    • Experience supporting pupils with additional needs.
    • A calm, patient and resilient approach.
    • Strong communication and relationship-building skills.
    • A genuine passion for supporting young people.
