A welcoming and high-achieving Catholic primary school in Ruislip, Hillingdon is seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Reception Teacher to join their Early Years team from September 2026. This is a full-time maternity cover role for the entire academic year through to July 2027.

The Role

As a Reception Teacher, you will:

  • Lead a Reception class in line with the EYFS framework
  • Deliver engaging, play-based learning experiences
  • Support early development in communication, language, and social skills
  • Deliver high-quality phonics teaching (Little Wandle experience desirable)
  • Work closely with a full-time Teaching Assistant
  • Monitor, assess, and track pupil progress
  • Build strong relationships with pupils, parents, and colleagues

The Ideal Candidate Will Have

  • UK Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
  • Experience teaching within Early Years (Reception desirable)
  • A strong understanding of the EYFS curriculum
  • Experience delivering phonics, ideally using Little Wandle
  • A nurturing, proactive, and enthusiastic teaching style
  • Strong classroom management and organisational skills
  • A willingness to support the Catholic ethos of the school
