We are working with a welcoming and nurturing primary school in Rugby that is seeking a dedicated 1:1 SEND Teaching Assistant to support a Year 2 pupil from September 2026. This rewarding role offers the opportunity to make a significant difference in a child's educational journey by providing tailored support throughout the school day. What You'll Be Doing
- Providing dedicated 1:1 support for a Year 2 pupil with special educational needs
- Supporting the child in accessing learning activities both inside and outside the classroom
- Working closely with the class teacher, SENDCo, and parents to ensure consistent support
- Implementing strategies outlined in the pupil's EHCP or individual support plan
- Encouraging the development of social skills, communication, confidence, and independence
- Supporting emotional regulation and promoting positive behaviour for learning
- Adapting activities and resources to meet the child's individual learning needs
- Monitoring progress and providing feedback to teaching staff
We're Looking For Someone Who
- Has a genuine passion for supporting children with SEND
- Is patient, nurturing, and empathetic
- Can build positive and trusting relationships with young children
- Has strong communication and teamwork skills
- Is proactive, adaptable, and able to respond to the changing needs of the pupil
- Ideally has experience supporting children with autism, ADHD, speech and language needs, SEMH, or additional learning needs
- Is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children
