Are you an experienced Teaching Assistant with a passion for supporting children with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities? Tradewind Recruitment are currently looking for a dedicated full-time SEND Teaching Assistant to work across primary schools in Rotherham, supporting pupils across Key Stage 1 and Key Stage 2. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced TA who enjoys helping children overcome barriers to learning and wants to make a genuine difference in the classroom.
The Role
- Support pupils with SEND across KS1 and KS2.
- Provide one-to-one and small-group support where required.
- Support children with ASD, ADHD and other additional needs.
- Help pupils to access the curriculum and develop their confidence and independence.
- Work closely with class teachers and other support staff.
- Assist with classroom activities and learning interventions.
- Help promote positive behaviour and create an inclusive learning environment.
- Provide pastoral and emotional support where appropriate.
- Adapt your approach to meet individual pupils' needs.
About You
- Has previous experience working as a Teaching Assistant in a primary school.
- Has experience supporting SEND pupils within the classroom.
- Has experience working with children across Key Stage 1 and Key Stage 2.
- Has experience supporting children with ASD and/or ADHD.
- Is patient, caring and able to build positive relationships with pupils.
- Can work effectively as part of a wider school team.
- Is confident supporting pupils with a range of learning and behavioural needs.
- Is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.
- A Team Teach qualification, or similar behaviour management qualification, would be highly beneficial, although this is not essential.
