Tradewind Recruitment are currently seeking dedicated and compassionate SEN Tutors to support children and young people across the Rotherham area on a supply basis. This rewarding role involves working with pupils who are unable to access mainstream education for a variety of reasons. As an SEN Tutor, you will provide personalised educational support outside of the traditional school setting, helping students to re-engage with learning and achieve their individual goals.
Learning sessions may take place in a variety of settings, including:
- The pupil's home
- Community venues such as libraries or learning centres
- Alternative educational provisions
- Other agreed safe locations suitable for learning
The Role
- Deliver tailored tuition sessions to pupils with Special Educational Needs (SEN), including those with EHCPs.
- Adapt teaching strategies to meet individual learning needs and abilities.
- Build positive relationships with pupils, families, and other professionals involved in the student's education.
- Monitor progress and provide feedback where required.
- Create a supportive, engaging, and safe learning environment.
The Ideal Candidate Will Have:
- Experience working with children or young people with SEN.
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS), tutoring experience, or relevant educational experience.
- A patient, flexible, and nurturing approach.
- Strong communication and behaviour management skills.
- The ability to plan and deliver engaging lessons tailored to individual learners.
- A valid Enhanced DBS on the Update Service, or willingness to obtain one.
