We are currently seeking dedicated and compassionate SEN Teaching Assistants with experience supporting pupils with Autism Spectrum Condition (ASC) to work across a trust of schools in the Rotherham area on a flexible supply basis. This is a fantastic opportunity for experienced SEN support staff who are passionate about helping children thrive in an inclusive educational environment while benefiting from the flexibility that supply work offers.

The Role

  • Providing 1:1 and small group support for pupils with autism
  • Supporting pupils with communication, emotional regulation, and social development
  • Assisting teachers in delivering tailored learning activities
  • Helping to create a safe, positive, and structured classroom environment
  • Encouraging independence, engagement, and confidence in pupils
  • Working collaboratively with teaching staff, SENCOs, and external professionals

Requirements

  • Previous experience supporting children or young people with autism/SEN
  • A patient, nurturing, and adaptable approach
  • Strong communication and behaviour management skills
  • The ability to build positive relationships with pupils and staff
  • Flexibility to work across different school settings
  • An enhanced DBS on the update service (or willingness to obtain one)
