Registered Manager - Children's Residential Home Location: Wolverhampton Salary: Competitive, dependent on experience Job Type: Full-time, Permanent Experienced Registered Manager - Children's Residential Care We are looking for an experienced and qualified Registered Manager to join our team and take responsibility for the management of a children's residential home in the Wolverhampton area. This role is specifically for someone who has already worked as a Registered Manager within children's residential care and has a proven track record of managing a home successfully. This is not a position for someone looking to gain their first Registered Manager role. The home supports children and young people with learning difficulties, emotional and behavioural difficulties (EBD), and potentially complex needs. We are looking for a confident, compassionate and experienced leader who understands the challenges and rewards of this type of care. Key Responsibilities Take overall responsibility for the day-to-day management and operation of the home. Ensure the home consistently provides high-quality, child-centred care. Lead, support and develop the residential childcare team. Ensure full compliance with Ofsted regulations, safeguarding requirements and relevant legislation. Maintain high standards across care planning, risk assessments, safeguarding, recording and staff practice. Work effectively with social workers, local authorities, education providers, healthcare professionals and other agencies. Manage staff recruitment, induction, supervision, training and performance. Ensure children's individual needs are understood and appropriately supported. Promote positive behaviour and use appropriate approaches when supporting children with emotional and behavioural difficulties. Monitor the quality of care and continually identify areas for improvement. Take responsibility for preparing the home for Ofsted inspections and responding appropriately to any recommendations. Maintain a positive culture where children feel safe, valued, respected and listened to. Essential Requirements Applicants MUST: Be a qualified Registered Manager for children's residential care. Have previously held a Registered Manager position in a children's residential home. Have demonstrable experience successfully managing a children's residential service. Have experience working with children and young people with learning difficulties and emotional/behavioural difficulties. Hold the relevant Level 5 qualification in Leadership and Management for Children and Young People. Have strong knowledge of Ofsted requirements, safeguarding and children's residential care legislation. Have proven experience leading, managing and developing a residential childcare team. Be confident dealing with challenging situations and complex behaviours. Be committed to achieving positive outcomes for children and young people.Please note: We are seeking an already-qualified and experienced Registered Manager. Candidates without previous Registered Manager experience within children's residential care will not be considered for this position.
