Tradewind Recruitment is seeking a proactive individual to provide vital 1-1 support within a specialized environment in Redditch. This is a full-time, temp-to-perm opportunity starting as soon as possible, offering you the chance to make a measurable impact on a student's daily educational experience.
The Role:
- 1-1 Specialist Support: In this role, you will be the "right hand" to a student with additional needs, ensuring they can access the curriculum safely and confidently. You will work within a supportive team in Erdington, focusing on removing barriers to learning and celebrating every milestone.
Position: 1-1 SEND Teaching Assistant
Location: Redditch
Pay: £95 - £100 per day (depending on experience)
Hours: Full-time, Monday to Friday, 8:30-3:30
Temp-to-Perm Contract: ASAP start - Oct 2026, with the opportunity to go permanent after this date.
Key Responsibilities
- Personalised Support: Deliver 1-1 assistance tailored to the student's specific EHCP (Education, Health and Care Plan).
- Collaboration: Work alongside the Class Teacher and SENDCo to track progress and adapt learning materials.
- Inclusive Environment: Help foster a calm, inclusive, and positive classroom atmosphere.
- Behavioral Support: Use de-escalation techniques and positive reinforcement to manage complex needs.
Requirements
- Experience: Previous experience supporting children or young people with SEND (ASC, ADHD, SEMH, or SLD) is highly preferred.
- Communication: A compassionate nature and the ability to build quick rapport with students.
- Qualifications: Relevant TA qualifications (Level 2 or 3) are a plus, but a "can-do" attitude and relevant experience are essential.
- Compliance: You must hold an Enhanced DBS on the update service or be willing to apply for a new one.
