A specialist educational setting in Rossendale is seeking a caring, resilient and enthusiastic Complex Needs Teaching Assistant to support children and young people aged approximately 3-19 with a wide range of additional learning and developmental needs.

This highly rewarding role involves supporting pupils with Profound and Multiple Learning Difficulties (PMLD), Severe Learning Difficulties (SLD), Moderate Learning Difficulties (MLD), Autism Spectrum Conditions (ASC), communication needs, physical disabilities and complex medical needs. Some learners may also require sensory support, personal care and assistance with mobility throughout the school day.

The school is part of a well-established specialist education trust and benefits from a multidisciplinary approach, working closely with teachers, therapists and support professionals to deliver personalised learning programmes. The provision includes specialist facilities designed to support communication, independence, life skills and emotional wellbeing, with a strong focus on preparing pupils for adulthood and achieving the best possible outcomes.

As a Teaching Assistant, you will:

  • Support pupils on a 1:1 basis and in small groups.

  • Relevant qualifications within Education, SEND, Health & Social Care or Childcare (desirable but not essential).
