Tradewind are recruiting for an experienced Level 2 Reception Teaching Assistant. Have you got experience of working with phonics groups? Tradewind are working with a Primary School in Wigan to recruit an experienced reception Teaching Assistant who has also worked with groups of children focusing on phonics interventions. This member of staff will be working full time on a long-term temporary basis from September 2025 until May 2026 with the potential to extend.

This 'Good' Primary School in Wigan has dedicated staff who work to ensure that they develop each child's individual abilities to reach their own full potential but also to grow as people. The teachers focus on developing English and Maths within school which has resulted in SATs scores being higher than the national average. The staff within school are very passionate, supportive and welcoming.

The successful candidate will have the following experience and attributes:

  • Previous experience supporting pupils in Early Years Foundation Stage or Key Stage One
  • Hold a L2 or above teaching assistant qualification
  • A calm and nurturing character
  • A creative and engaging practitioner
  • Phonics experience

To join us and be successful in this role you will need to:

  • NVQ level 2 qualification
  • Experience of working with EYFS children
  • Experience of phonics
  • Experience of supporting pupils with ASC, ADHD and global delay
  • Enhanced DBS Disclosure, Overseas Police Clearances (if applicable) and professional reference checks
  • CV must cover the last 10 years of employment history where possible
  • Legal right to work in the UK
