We have an opening for an experienced Year 2 Teacher at a primary school in Harrow. Year 2 consolidates KS1 learning and includes statutory teacher assessments at the end of the year. The successful candidate will deliver the Primary National Curriculum with confidence, maintaining high expectations in reading, writing and mathematics while engaging and supporting a diverse group of pupils. The role involves using assessment data to monitor pupil progress, adapting planning, and working closely with teaching assistants and SENCO colleagues to ensure all learners, including those with SEND and EAL, receive the support they need.

Qualifications

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) – essential
  • KS1 teaching experience, ideally in Year 2
  • Confident knowledge of KS1 statutory teacher assessments and moderation processes
  • Strong phonics and early reading expertise
  • Skilled in using assessment data to inform planning and intervention
  • Experience supporting SEND, EAL and mixed‑ability learners
  • Clear understanding of safeguarding and child protection responsibilities
