A friendly and well-regarded primary school in Chesterfield is seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Year 1 Teacher to cover a maternity leave starting from 1st September 2025. This is a full-time, fixed-term position running for the full academic year until July 2026.
The Role:
This role involves teaching a vibrant and well-behaved Year 1 class with the support of a full-time Teaching Assistant. The successful candidate will take on full teaching responsibilities, including planning, delivering engaging lessons, assessing pupil progress, and attending staff meetings and training. Phonics plays a key role in the Year 1 curriculum, so prior experience delivering or supporting phonics is essential. The school has been praised in recent inspections for its strong leadership and excellent pupil behaviour, creating a warm, purposeful learning environment for both staff and students.

- Qualified with QTS
- Experienced in KS1 and confident with the phonics screening check
