A primary school in Finchley, Barnet is seeking a qualified and experienced PE Teacher to join the team on a full-time basis for an immediate start. The successful candidate will deliver a broad and engaging Physical Education curriculum across EYFS, Key Stage 1 and Key Stage 2. A strong understanding of physical development from Early Years through to Upper Key Stage 2 is essential. The role will include planning and delivering structured, progressive lessons that promote fundamental movement skills, teamwork and physical confidence. The ability to teach additional subjects, including Maths and English where required, is necessary.
Requirements
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) - essential
- Previous experience as a PE Teacher - essential
- Experience teaching across EYFS, KS1 and KS2
- A sporting or sports-related degree - desirable
- Strong curriculum knowledge and effective behaviour management
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver high-quality PE lessons across EYFS, KS1 and KS2
- Teach additional curriculum subjects (Maths/English) as required
- Lead and manage school sports events, inter-school fixtures and Sports Day
- Organise and contribute to extracurricular sports clubs and teams
- Drive the school minibus to fixtures (training can be provided if required)
- Monitor pupil progress and contribute to assessment and reporting
This role requires a proactive practitioner who can contribute to whole-school sport and promote high standards of participation and achievement.
