Tradewind are currently seeking a Level 3 qualified Early Years Teaching Assistant to join a welcoming Primary School in the Preston area, supporting their exciting new nursery provision. This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced Early Years practitioner who is passionate about providing children with the very best start to their education. You will play an important role in helping to establish and develop the new nursery, working closely with the class teacher and wider school team to create a safe, nurturing and stimulating learning environment. The role will be on an ongoing basis, starting in October, with the opportunity to become an integral part of the school's Early Years provision.
Key Responsibilities:
- Supporting the delivery of high-quality learning experiences within the nursery setting
- Working closely with the class teacher to support children's learning and development
- Providing engaging and age-appropriate activities based on the EYFS framework
- Supporting children's personal, social and emotional development
- Encouraging communication, language and early literacy skills
- Supporting children's physical development and independence
- Observing, assessing and recording children's progress
- Creating a safe, inclusive and stimulating learning environment
- Building strong and positive relationships with children, parents and colleagues
- Supporting children who may have additional needs or SEND
- Helping to establish routines and contribute to the development of the new nursery provision
Essential Requirements:
- Level 3 Early Years qualification or equivalent - essential
- Previous experience working within an Early Years or nursery setting
- Good understanding of the EYFS framework
- A genuine passion for supporting young children's learning and development
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to build positive relationships with children and staff
- Enhanced DBS on the Update Service and right to work in the UK
Desirable:
- Experience working within a school nursery or Reception setting
- Experience supporting children with SEND
- Knowledge of phonics and early language development
- Paediatric First Aid qualification
