This is a full-time role, with a strong preference for a permanent appointment, although fixed-term contracts or long-term supply will also be considered for the right candidate. About the role:

  • Teaching Physics across Key Stages 3 and 4, with Key Stage 5 available for the right candidate
  • Planning and delivering engaging lessons that develop scientific knowledge, practical skills, and analytical thinking
  • Leading and supporting practical experiments in well-equipped Science laboratories
  • Inspiring students to develop curiosity about the physical world and confidence in applying scientific principles
  • Assessing, tracking, and supporting student progress to ensure strong outcomes in examinations
  • Contributing to curriculum planning, schemes of work, and departmental resources
  • Working collaboratively with other Science specialists to share best practice and support whole-department success

We're looking for candidates who:

  • Hold QTS or equivalent teaching qualification in Science
  • Have strong subject knowledge in Physics and the ability to teach across KS3 and KS4 confidently
  • Can deliver engaging, well-structured lessons that challenge and motivate learners of all abilities
  • Have effective classroom management skills and a calm, consistent approach
  • Are committed to inclusive teaching and raising attainment for all students
  • Are enthusiastic, reflective practitioners open to permanent, fixed-term, or long-term opportunities
