We are currently recruiting for an enthusiastic and dedicated PE Teacher to join a specialist school in Wood Green, working with secondary-aged pupils with Profound and Multiple Learning Difficulties (PMLD).
This is an excellent opportunity for a PE teacher who is passionate about making physical education accessible, engaging and meaningful for pupils with complex learning needs.
The role will involve:
- Planning and delivering engaging PE sessions for pupils aged 11‑16
- Adapting activities to suit individual physical, communication and learning needs
- Working closely with teaching assistants and the wider multidisciplinary team
- Supporting pupils' physical development, confidence and independence
- Creating a safe, positive and inclusive learning environment
- Contributing to the wider life of the school
The ideal candidate will have:
- Qualified Teacher Status or relevant teaching experience
- Experience teaching PE within a SEND setting, or a strong willingness to work with specialist learners
- A patient, creative and nurturing approach
- Excellent behaviour management and communication skills
- A genuine passion for supporting pupils with complex needs
