We are currently recruiting a Part‑Time Science Teacher to join a highly supportive and therapeutic secondary SEN school in Southwark, working with students with a range of complex learning needs. This is a fantastic opportunity for a dynamic and engaging teacher who can bring Science to life through hands‑on, creative, and sensory‑based learning.
Responsibilities
- Deliver engaging Science lessons at primary and foundation levels.
- Teach students with MLD, Autism, Down Syndrome, and Cerebral Palsy.
- Plan creative, practical, and sensory‑based learning experiences (e.g. outdoor learning, experiments, gardening projects).
- Support more able learners with potential progression towards GCSE Science.
- Work collaboratively with a supportive SEN team and therapists.
- Create a safe, inclusive, and highly engaging learning environment.
Timetable
Part‑time: Monday–Wednesday or Wednesday–Thursday. Start date: September (earlier start possible).
Qualifications & Requirements
- Holds QTS or equivalent teaching qualification.
- Has experience teaching Science within SEN or inclusive settings.
- Is creative, energetic, and highly engaging in teaching style.
