The Role: As our Outdoor Education Specialist, you will be responsible for:
- Designing and delivering diverse outdoor learning programmes (e.g., bushcraft, hiking, climbing, water sports, Duke of Edinburgh, team-building).
- Facilitating a safe and nurturing environment where students can build confidence and life skills.
- Adapting activities to meet the specific needs of students in an AP setting, including those with Social, Emotional, and Mental Health (SEMH) needs.
- Monitoring student progress and contributing to their individual learning plans.
- Managing and maintaining outdoor equipment to ensure safety and readiness.
Essential Qualities:
- Proven ability to work effectively with young people, particularly those with complex needs.
- Strong practical outdoor skills and knowledge.
- Excellent behaviour management and de-escalation techniques.
- Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.
- Teaching qualification (QTS/QTLS) highly desirable but not essential; relevant outdoor education qualifications (e.g., NGB awards, Forest School Leader) and significant experience are equally valued.
