Job Description SEND Teaching Assistant - Secondary School - Oldham
£85 - £95 per day (depending on experience and qualifications)
Contract Type: Full-time, long-term

Tradewind Recruitment is currently working with a welcoming and inclusive secondary school in Oldham, who are seeking a committed and skilled SEND Teaching Assistant to join their team from 22nd April 2025.
This role is ideal for someone who thrives in a supportive environment and is dedicated to helping pupils overcome barriers to learning through tailored and compassionate support.
About the Role:
- In this role, you will work closely with the SENCO and class teachers to support students across Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4 who have a range of additional needs, including autism, ADHD, speech and language difficulties, and social, emotional and mental health (SEMH) challenges.
- You will provide targeted 1:1 and small group support to ensure all pupils are able to access the curriculum and achieve their potential.
- Help to implement and monitor EHCPs and individual support plans.
- Communicate regularly with teaching staff, parents, and external professionals where appropriate.
Requirements:
- Experience working in a UK school or educational setting is essential - applications from those without relevant school-based experience will not be considered.
- Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to build rapport with young people.
- An Enhanced DBS certificate on the Update Service (or willingness to obtain one).
- Availability to begin full-time from Tuesday 22nd April 2025.
