Are you a compassionate and resilient Teaching Assistant with an understanding of Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs? Do you enjoy supporting children who benefit from a nurturing, personalised approach to learning? If so, this opportunity could be perfect for you.

Tradewind Recruitment is delighted to be working with a dedicated SEMH School in Bottesford, who are seeking a committed SEMH Teaching Assistant to support pupils across KS1 and KS2. This is a full-time TA role involving 1:1 support, small-group work and assisting the class teacher in creating a calm, structured learning environment.

The Role

  • Support KS1 and KS2 pupils with a range of social, emotional and behavioural needs.
  • Assist the class teacher in delivering engaging, creative learning activities.
  • Build positive, trusting relationships to help pupils regulate emotions and re-engage with learning.
  • Provide consistent routines, reassurance and structure throughout the school day.
  • Work closely with the pastoral and therapeutic teams to support pupils' holistic development.
  • Help implement behaviour strategies and personalised support plans.
  • Encourage independence, confidence and resilience in each child.

What We're Looking For

  • Experience supporting children with SEMH, SEND or behavioural needs (school, youth work or similar).
  • A patient, empathetic and child-centred approach.
  • Strong communication and behaviour management skills.
  • Ability to remain calm under pressure and use initiative.
  • Willingness to work as part of a multi-disciplinary team.
  • Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to apply).
  • Due to the rural location, own transport and ability to drive are essential.

Working Hours

  • Monday-Thursday: 08:30 - 16:30
  • Friday: 08:30 - 16:00 (early finish!)
