We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate 1:1 SEN Teaching Assistant to work with students with special educational needs. This is a rewarding role where you will provide personalised support, helping students access the curriculum, build confidence, and thrive both academically and socially.
The provision we are working with are looking for nurturing Teaching Assistants to work with their students. The Provision is for Secondary aged students, however students are often working to lower levels so the position is also suitable for Primary Trained teaching assistants.
Key Responsibilities:- Provide one-to-one support for a student with identified SEN needs.
- Assist in implementing personalised learning plans.
- Support students with learning, social, and emotional development.
- Work closely with teachers, SENCO, and parents to monitor progress.
- Encourage positive behaviour, independence, and engagement in lessons.
- Has experience supporting students with SEN, preferably in a secondary school.
- Can build trusting relationships and communicate effectively with students.
- Is patient, adaptable, and proactive.
- Has a good understanding of strategies to support learning and behaviour.
- Holds relevant qualifications or experience in SEN support, teaching assistance, or education.
