A forward-thinking primary school in Wellingborough is seeking a motivated and dependable Year 6 Teaching Assistant to join their team from September 2026 for the full academic year. This role offers the opportunity to work closely with pupils as they prepare for their transition to secondary school, providing both academic and pastoral support throughout a key period in their educational journey.
The successful candidate will work alongside the class teacher to help pupils reach their full potential, build confidence, and develop the skills needed for success in their final year of primary education.
Key Responsibilities- Provide classroom support to Year 6 pupils across a range of subjects
- Assist with the delivery of engaging lessons and learning activities
- Work with individuals and small groups to reinforce key concepts and learning objectives
- Support pupils as they prepare for end-of-year assessments and secondary school transition
- Encourage positive attitudes towards learning and achievement
- Help maintain a focused, productive, and inclusive classroom environment
- Monitor pupil progress and provide feedback to teaching staff
- Contribute to the social, emotional, and academic development of pupils
- Previous experience working with primary-aged children is desirable
- A good understanding of the Key Stage 2 curriculum is advantageous
